We ended up staying over an extended weekend and making a day trip to San Miguel de Allende. It’s possible to see everything in 2 to 3 days but if you have time I would suggest maybe a week.

You can also make it out to Cañada de la Virgen, a little over an hour towards San Miguel, you will have the chance to explore pyramids from a pre-hispanic civilization.
